The film starred Jackie Shroff, Juhi Chawla, Amrita Singh,  Saeed Jaffrey, deepak tijori, dina pathak, Saeed Jaffrey and Maya Alagh. Amrita Singh won a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in film aaina. The music of aaina was composed by Dilip Sen while music was directed by  Deepak Sareen. Lyrics were penned down by sameer. The movie was released at June 18, 1993 and was about sibling rivalry. Roma (Amrita Singh) and Reema Mathur (Juhi Chawla) are the daughters of Mr. Mathur (Saeed Jaffery), a wealthy business man, where Roma had always been spoiled and gets everything she desires, and is a competitive child while  her sister Reema is quite reserved, and usually lets her sister take the spotlight but unfortunately both sisters fell in love with the same man, Ravi Saxena (Jackie Shroff). Roma and ravi decided to merry each other but she accepts a film offer  and abandons Ravi minutes before their wedding. Ravi in anger married her sister rema and after facing a lot of hardships in their life ravi finally fell in love with rema. Roma then came back and tries to get ravi back even on destroying her sisters life but soon realises her mistake and reema forgives her.
