The movie short kut is about a struggling assistant director and a writer who gets fired by his director. After some time, shekhar, played by Akshay Khanna, writes a script, takes advance from someone and starts recruiting his staff to come up with his own movie.   His plans are completely shattered when he finds out that his work is copied by his friend and a bollywood striving actress leaves her family because of the abuses she gets through them and announces that she is moving in with shekhar. He is unemployed, compelled to marry mansi, played by amrita rao, his work plagiarized, he turns to alcohol, becomes neglectful and forces the girl to leave him. It is a comedy movie that creates a real drama and keeps you glued to your seats till the end. But the movie bears a tag of bring inspired from a Hollywood movie released back in 1999.
